This window was installed in memory of the Rev. John Waterhouse, whose last words were “Missionaries, missionaries, missionaries.” After 30 years serving as a minister in Britain he was appointed ‘General Superintendent of the Wesleyan Missions in Australia and Polynesia’. He died in Hobart in 1842. This window was the first stained glass window to be installed in 1870 and was originally the central window in the apse.
