Frank Salisbury was a Methodist artist from Harpenden, Hertfordshire. He painted Royalty and the establishment, notably George V, Winston Churchill, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and posthumous portraits of the Wesley family. His paintings can be found at Buckingham Palace; Guildhall Art Gallery; Palace of Westminster and the World Methodist Museum in North Carolina.
This portrait of John Wesley was painted to celebrate the Methodist Union of 1932.
