Wesley's Chapel
Walnut Bureau
Tall open bureau with two large mirrors and number of small drawers inside.

The Queen Anne style walnut bureau dates from around 1730.

It has secret drawers in which Wesley is said to have hidden his letters away from his wife. He married Mary Vazeille, a merchant's widow with four children, in 1751, but partly due to his frequent absences, she had left him by 1771 and never took up residence in City Road.
